Okay, so...hopelessly unscientific it is. skaredykat forwarded me the info that this is a scam to get you to boost Google ratings for a vanity publisher. Or to get you to use a vanity publisher. Either way = ew! Please to not be following the links. If you want to know who you write like, I am more than capable of giving you some random writer's name after lightly perusing any of your work. Links to stupid site have been sanitized for your protection. (And retitled, for your amusement.) :D

If you're thinking of doing the meme yourself, you may want to check out the link from the comment after yours. (I'd put it here, but forgot to copy it. Der!) It seems it's a ploy to get folks to use their vanity publishing company, and to boost their Google scores. I've disabled the links and retooled the words in the banners to reflect this.

Warn anybody you think needs to know, please. :D

Yeah, I saw the blurb and noted that it's a site that wants to sell you shit. I ignored that and plugged in my next set of words anyway. Didn't think about the Google hits implications.

Although, it is good to know that there's no basis for their accusation that I write like that Twilight hack. :grin:

I'll report it back to whose journal I saw it in, and leave a warning on the post. Stoopid scammers can't leave us alone. GrrArgh!

Thanks! I was advised that it was a scam, and just generating random authors names....and was relieved. 'Cause that last one did say 'Stephenie' rather then 'Oscar', before I unleashed my coding wrath upon it. All hail mecurtin for finding and skaredykat for spreading the word.

As for the MarySue statement? Amen, sister. Her violet/lavender/periwinkle eyes and curly/wavy/hip-length tresses don't make her a MarySue either, I'm sure. As for her two-dimensional character...hey, at least she's readily portable. :D

Maybe anyone already mentioned this - but what about the I author-name-link? It goes to the iwl website first (which then automatically redirects to Amazon), so I'd guess they're still getting google mileage as long as you don't change the href...?
