elderwitty: a close-up of the center, swirling petals of a deep pink tea rose (incredulous dean)
So let me get this straight?

Over on janissa11's page, there's a discussion about whether Ruby's plan was better or worse than Dean's or were they both just bad.  I put in my 2 cents and liked it so much that I decided to post it here, too.

The problem wasn't Ruby's plan, evil though it was, or even her desertion, 'cause that cool demon-killing knife would have come in way handy, don't ya think?  Even if she only used it on the six people who were dead before the siege started.  By my count - the 4 deputies posted at the doors, the chopper pilot, and Reidy (Hendrickson's partner).  The corpse who escaped to tell Lilith was a deputy, after all - the one who Mirandized the boys in the hotel room.  That would have been 1/5 of the opposition neutralized with no (additional) harm to human bodies.  Which Ruby has never shied away from, so what was her damn issue?

Who besides me briefly thought that the guy was the virgin, not Nancy?  He looked so caught out.

The problem wasn't Dean's plan either, although I think it could have been improved.  How about only opening 2 of the 3 entrances?  Or having Devils' Traps further in the building's interior, to reduce the number of bodies they had to battle?  Easy to second guess, though, so.

The mass exorcism was brilliant, and I'm sad about how sure I am that they are just going to put it out of their minds due to Ruby's accusations.  I'd have that thing running on radio stations 24/7 somehow.  Blended into the tv carrier signal.  Whatever.

I'm so very sad about Hendrickson.  Just as soon as the boys get an ally who could be REALLY useful, he gets vaporized.  He seemed a cool guy, too, under that flat black suit and FBI windbreaker.   I think Kripke's trying to kill me by killing all the best/nicest/coolest  characters.  John (though I know he had to), Andy, Ava (evil, then dead), Ash, Nancy (very cool cucumber considering the circumstances), and Hendrickson.  I'm not counting Caleb and Father Jim because we never really got to know them (except in fanfic, where they live and rock!)

No, the REAL problem is Bela.  Who stole the Colt, for no-doubt nefarious purposes of her own, whatever she may claim to Dean.  And who, let's not forget, CALLED THE COPS ON THEM, starting the entire tragic chain reaction.  If not for her, NOBODY would have died in that tiny police station, because it would have been just another slow night in their sleepy burg.  I didn't like Bela before, but now?  Now, I despise her with the power of a thousand flaming suns, and hope she gets what she royally has coming, which should involve Dean's boot and the insertion into her lying ass thereof.  Therein?  You decide.

Lilith?  Super creepy.  And how did she not get vaporized in the blast again?  OK, upgrade to super-DUPER creepy.
