Either this is hopelessly unscientific...or am I just my own little army of one?

Okay, so...hopelessly unscientific it is. [livejournal.com profile] skaredykat forwarded me the info that this is a scam to get you to boost Google ratings for a vanity publisher. Or to get you to use a vanity publisher. Either way = ew! Please to not be following the links. If you want to know who you write like, I am more than capable of giving you some random writer's name after lightly perusing any of your work. Links to stupid site have been sanitized for your protection. (And retitled, for your amusement.) :D

(*choking with laughter*)

in perverse moment, wonders where the "write like Diana Gabaldon" and "write like W*ll Sh*tt*rl*" ones are?

Sorry, I wikied DG and still have no clue who she is, and I'm a dunce and can't make out what the asterisks are hiding in the second one >.<

Diana Gabaldon started the most recent "pro author exclaims about the immorality and depravity of fanfic (while fanwriting -- with side of non-con -- a RP into her work)" kerfuffle.

W*ll Sh*tt*rl*'s behavior during RaceFail09 was so trollish that at the time even his name would often be disemvowelled in blogposts referring to his actions.

Oh, the professional writers whose skills we look up to! (*tinge of irony*)

Looks like I missed most of the biggest wanks, as usual. (Also, your irony is well placed, indeed.)

I think there have been a bunch of imbroglios that big or bigger; these just came to mind as involving professional authors behaving, dare I say it?, unprofessionally... (I was barely online/had not plunged into LJ, yet still heard about the second writer's antics. Besides derailing, there was definitely very public outing of someone's RL identity, and there may have been no regret about subsequent threats of bodily harm. It seemed notably bad.)

but for further entertainment:

I write like
Diana Gabaldon
my 800-page opuses about 18th-century diapers and Doctor Who actors in kilts are sacred

I write like
W*ll Sh*tt*rl*
derailing and trolling are just as much of an art as writing diverse characters
