Quick question... did you think about pulling out the Dotcom!Verse fics like the Vegas!Verse? (even though Sheppard's jobs will vary) just a thought. They are sprinkled throughout the list like little gems, but I know there are some big fans of DotCom!Verse.

Dotcom!Verse? I don't know what that is. I know that sounds stupid, as I'm the compiler...but I haven't read them all yet. Is/are there an/a couple of author/authors I could search by? I'd be happy to put it all in one group. I did it with Vegas so I could read 'em all in a row when the mood strikes (as it does).

I'm pretty sure that's what most people call it. Though I can't seem to find a tag for Dotcom! in the 2 min I went searching.

Regardless, it's verse that spins off from the SG-1 S10 ep called "The Road Not Taken" Carter goes into an AU where he double was married to McKay. Hijinks ensues (well, not really) So not total AU, as the SGC exists, but McKay isn't a part of it.

The 3rd fic down in the 'L' section is labeled "Landscaper(?)/Dot-com billionaire" That one is part of this verse, but I can't remember what other one's I've seen.

I have had this list open in a tab almost since you first posted it. Every time I feel like reading an AU, which is often, I go down the list! I completely love this resource... you're a prize for making this!

:-) The bakery stories are in chronological order on the series page on LJ.

Also, I don't have confidence in the chronological abilties of AOOO.

As an author, when you list things as a series on AOOO, you can arrange them in sequence however you want, so the chronological abilities of AOOO are fine grained for the writer. The Foster's Bakery AOOO page is a little skew-whiff right now because I have yet to clean up and upload A Place on the Corner-- since it was written for McShep Match, the Match mods posted the nicely formatted version to an LJ post that I can't access, and I'll have to reformat mine before uploading to AOOO. Putting that on my to-do list for this week!

A-ha! Mystery solved. And I enjoy stuff like Pulp Fiction, but I prefer to know it's purposely chronologically twisted, and not just tech-unsavvily chronologically twisted. (That made no sense at all, did it?) Thanks for the info!

Thanks! It started off selfishly - I just wanted a clickable list. Then after I was finished, it seemed the right thing to share it with all. And now it's purpose has changed to...sharing the goodness as far and as wide as is possible. I'm glad to hear that it's working, and that people are being directed to your story, as well as you to theirs.

There's no scenario they can't be crammed in to and still look fabulous, so yes, I think you're right - LBD it is!

Well, in my understanding, every gen 'Vegas!AU' fic is little bit John/Rodney pre-slash because seriously? :))

I've considered putting all pilot types under 'pilot', but thought that maybe folks were looking for the story under the specific type, such as 'air ambulance' or 'commercial' pilot. And I thought putting them all under both listings would be confusing(er).

What do you think?

I saw the search, too. It prompted me to make a poll, and the response so far has been 'put them all under pilot with sub-type in parentheses'. Which I can do pretty easily.

Ya know, I was just sitting here thinking, "If only I weren't so dang bored. At least I'm not at work and covered with hives." :grin:

All from the sgareversebang, yes? I was hoping to finish the AOOO AU selection before I got to this, but as there are another 13 pages of those, and this is fewer than 20, that seems less likely than before. :more grin:

Tell me - as a reader, is it helpful that the new ones are marked? Or am I just making more makework for me? I'm happy to do it if it's helpful, but how would I know?

Also, would it be more helpful to leave the symbols (###, @@@, or &&&) for the last two or three sets up with dates...in case you hadn't checked in for awhile? It's not as if I don't have ten or so sets to play around with.

Actually, only two of these are from the reversebang. The rest I picked up going through all my movie fusions for a sgagenrefinders and and then noticing a few Sentinel/Guide stories were missing.

I've also been going back through all the mckay_sheppard entries by author and picking up stories that aren't archived anywhere else - a lot of one story authors.

I'll be going through sga_flashfic next to pick up stories that were never cross-posted, even to the author's LJ. (one of my peeves with comms that insist stories be posted directly instead of linked with no outside posting until they're released).

As far as the markings are concerned, they are very helpful and keeping them for a few updates would be great because I forget to check back. I'll be cruising through these again today because I suspect I may have missed an update or two. Gee, what an awful chore. *grin*

It's a good thing you're doing all this. I'm stuck in slow gear, it seems, when it comes to the linking. Or I'll do 10 pages of AUs over on AOOO, and I'm burnt out for the week. Sure, I could do it in a more moderate fashion, but that mean changing my entire mindset. :>

Okay, so I'll keep markings for a month, however many updates that means. Some months, it would have been four, and others it would be one. Plan! Yes, I'm sorry to have caused you such effort. I do hope you'll be okay. :grin:

Hi! I found 'One and All' by aesc (http://aesc.livejournal.com/344065.html) and its sequel 'Playing the Body' (http://aesc.livejournal.com/311633.html#cutid1). It's sort of Hockey!AU where they're ex-pilot and scientist who plays amateur hockey).

But I'm not sure it's not on the list already because it's entirely possible I just can't read properly. If so and the fic is on the list or in someone else's recs, please, disregard this comment. I'd go wallowing in shame :).

Thanks for letting me know. They've been added. There's no shame even if they were on this list - I can't find stuff sometimes. (Pro tip? I always blame the computer. :grin:) And it should be easier to check them now, as they're all on one page. I'll be posting about it to sga_noticeboard in about five minutes. :D
