Oh, jeebus! (A PB cup adventure)
Mar. 4th, 2021 09:19 pmOkay. Story time.
Aldi's sells peanut butter cups that, to me, are better than Reese's. They used to sit in the same brown paper cups, but Aldi's stopped that at some point. (So the cups are just loose in the bag.)
Last year, due to the pandemic, I guess, they started wrapping each one in gold foil. Makes sense.
Well, I bought a bag a while ago and started craving them this evening. I ignored it and ignored it...for a while. I just went and got the bag, cut the top off, and was walking down the long dark(ish) hallway back to the living room. Tossed one in my mouth and - even as my brain told me something was wrong - bit the fully foil-wrapped cup in half.
Friends, it's been SO LONG since I had them that I was picturing them as being packed naked in the bag.
The moral of the story? Eat Aldi's PB cups more often.
(The cup/foil combo tasted weirdly like coffee. And, yes, I spit out the split carcass, unwrapped it, and ate it. One does not waste chocolate.)
