I'm a little tardy, oops. Went to the Botanical Garden and out to dinner...and then fell asleep in the recliner. LOL!

Question: Day 4: What's your most treasured piece of fandom merch?
The five Stargate cons I attended. Not so much the cons themselves as all the memories of meeting and hanging out with fellow fen. I imagine it's the feeling people who attend sporting events get, being in a crowd of folks who are all unabashedly excited about the same thing I'm unabashedly excited about.


Bonus: What's your most treasured fandom freebie?
The gorgeous drawings done by crysothemis, who, upon deciding to downsize, gave away A BUNCH of her artwork to fellow fans who she knew would appreciate it.


Alt Bonus: What's your most expensive piece of fandom merch?
The photos I took with Stargate actors at the cons. The autographs were included in the ticket, but the photos were extra. Not that I regret the outlay a single bit!

That really was a magical, once in a lifetime event. I think it could have only happened in fandom.

My armchair is always my first stop on the sleep train. LOL!

The Stargate cons were pricey, but so, so worth it. Just having that shared experience with people who are just as nerdy about the source material as I am? Priceless! Particularly because almost none of my RL friends understands that fandom feeling, or why it's so important to me. My people are far too scattered!

I swear that my new recliner has the same chloroform (or something) leaching out from the fabric as the old one, because it sucks me under so dang often. :D

I'm so glad that people posted Supernatural con footage on YouTube, or I'd've never known they were out there. It was well worth the money and travel time, for just the reasons you listed.
