this is what I did today
Apr. 20th, 2009 12:40 am
I went the the Missouri Botanical Garden. "Wait, I've read this already," you say. Nope. I decided to go back to get the plant names I'd forgotten, and get more plant pix with my newly re-batteried camera.
My favorite shot of the day. I was trying to focus on the back flower, and have the front one blurry. Camera disagreed. Camera was right. Good camera.
Another lovely day, though it drizzled the last 30 minutes. Considering the 80% chance of rain, that wasn't so bad. The new batteries gave out, though. Unimpressive. (I now realize that I took about 150 photos, so I guess they didn't do so badly after all.)

I liked the benches Saturday, but they didn't seem photographically interesting. Just add water and, Hey, presto!

Sea level Chihulys

I can't believe the cropping worked this well. *pleased grin*

Chandelier detail

Peonies always seem to me to be the friendliest flower.

This is the trio of mobiles that the up-under pix are from.

I (possibly) have an unreasonable affection for this one. It's the small green-roofed building on the left in the next photo. You can't get in, so I put the camera between the bars and shot the window opposite. The reflection of the bars on my side holding the stained glass borders on the other side pleases me greatly, as do the reflected trees.

Though you can't see them, there is a couple here. The guy was investigating the folly, while the girl stood on the path and watched me wait patiently for her to clear my shot. (Yes, it is all about me.) Right at this moment they are behind the evergreen looking thing. Hey, you've got to get the shot while the shot-getting's good, right? Invisible people, people!

These are branches of a willow tree, just in case it's unclear.

Maybe I'll go again next weekend. And take along four spare batteries.
