So, there's been a bit of an earthquake here in Missouri.  Yeah, I know.  Missouri.  What's up with that?  It was tiny - let me repeat - tiny.  It started off so small that I thought it was my brother walking around heavily upstairs.  Then, when all the windows started rattling and the chair started to jitter I (finally) caught the clue.  Went on for about 40 seconds.

Brief flash of disaster preparedness telling me to go stand in an archway, or even go outside, as the nearest archway is less than ONE FOOT from the front door.  Did I do this?  Nope.  I just gazed around in wide wonder and thought, "Huh.  So this is an earthquake."  And, also, I'm a freaky scientist-y girl, so I entertained thoughts of how this is a GOOD thing.  See, the New Madrid fault runs though Missouri and is due for a catastrophic break any decade now.  So any LITTLE quakes that we get, that relieve the pressure, can only be a good thing.  Better to have two dozen 2.0 (or whatevers) than one 6.0.

So, shaky happenings here on the home front.  Oh, and I'm not nearly as nice to mice as unhobbityhobbit.  I trapped (and by trapped I mean killed) the mouse in my house last week.  So he missed the earthquake.  Oh, well.  Off to bed.
