I'm tired of my bosses

My boss welcomed me back with an announcement that the company has decided to teach the salespeople to enter their own orders, and if all goes well, my position will be eliminated in five weeks. If I'm a good little girl, and don't interfere with the process I'll get 10 weeks severance. Blah blah blah, and I can contact our HR to get all the details of the severance package. And how was Chicago?


Really? No, fucking REALLY? You throw that in on the end of that discussion. You suck.

And doesn't the fact that there are details about the package make it seem like this has been in the works for a while and my ouster is inevitable? Nice.


I forgot to mention to him that order entry comprises only about 40% of the actual duties of my two positions (Data Entry/Office Coordinator). I'll let him figure that out when he has to do all the other stuff that I've been in charge of for the last seven years. You know - little, vastly unimportant things, like gift card redemption forms (a major pain) and periodicals, office supplies and payroll. Have fun, asshole!

I have to talk to my boss about changing my schedule because the soccer coach? Totally scheduled the kid's practices on Thursdays. At 5pm. (I work Mon/Tue/Thur 9-5, with an hour of commute each way. So unless I get a Tardis in the near future...I'm hosed) So I feel your pain. Actually I haven't even seen my boss since I've been back at work (you know since yesterday)

Um, don't most parents work 'til 5pm. Isn't there even a song about that? What the hell was he thinking. Wait - isn't your kidlet five? He could be taken out by a soccer ball. Or do they use a scaled down version? Either way, the running around has GOT to be good for him.

It's not as if I love the job anymore, but it's still a shock - after being told that I'm the best person who's ever done the job - to be tossed out on my ass. They say it's only a possibility, but from my experiences in this company, it's more of a certainty.

It's a whole company of weasels, really. There's a new dude in charge over our department. He comes from a marketing background, and knows nothing of our office or my jobs. I'm sure that he has NO idea what my duties are, and Mike didn't bother to tell him. Nice.

My sister gave me a lead on second shift office jobs at local hospitals, so I'm looking into that. I'm thinking that even if the salespeople entry program goes down in flames, I'm out of this pit. They've proven exactly how little they respect and esteem me and my efforts, and the time has come to tell them to piss off.

Yes she is five. And yes they do use a scaled down version. Though that doesn't mean it COST any less than a 'regular' ball. In fact it was MORE expensive for HALF a ball. Was ridiculous.

Oh, my god! I'd whip those Creatinous idiots into shape in no time. Alls I need is a free hand and my favorite bullwhip, and everybody gets personalized autographs. It's called time management, people. Watch this:

Holding the No-Minimum Auction while folks line up for autographs would free up an hour per day so that each con-goer would get their full measure. And, since nobody would leave the room 'til they'd gotten their signature, there would be more people viewing each item for sale (ie, the cool kids wouldn't eschew the auction like they did both days). You can wave from the wall just as well as the chairs, right? And you can call the next row in between items. Also, a bigger crowd heightens the likelihood of bidding wars, and eggs on the bidders, both of which are good for the bottom line. It's not rocket science!

As for work, I think they're going to get just exactly the karma they deserve. And, don't worry, they'll either be laying me off with a severance package, or losing me about two weeks after the announcement that the program has been a complete failure. I've felt unappreciated for quite some time now, but was too ... okay, lazy is a word ... to go looking.

The really fun news is that, with almost a year 'til the next Con, there should be no issue getting the time off. (Why can I see the silver cloud in everything? Wait, because it's a good talent to have, it's funny, and it pisses some people off. Okay, then.)

Why did I think you had a son? Ya know, I'm gonna claim that someone told me that. (It might even be true, since so much of the weekend is a blur.) And, of course, it costs more - don't you realize how much a shrink ray goes for these days? Seriously, that's pretty stupid. Unless it's that, since they make so many fewer of them, that they're not able to get the costs down. (Why am I applying logic? Let's just rail against The Man!)

Yes, yes it is. My boss doesn't realize how hard I work to make it look like I'm doing something everytime he arrives. (Because most of the time there isn't enough work so I save special projects just for when he's around)

It wasn't his choice apparently. It was handed down by the league. (The Evil League of Evil. Did I mention that the girls named the team "The Ponies" (edited to "The Diva Ponies" by parents) and when he joked that he "ruled this team with an iron fist" I was all "Don't you mean Iron hoof?" "I rule this team with an iron hoof!")

I do that. Only I hit Alt+Esc to go to the other window, where I check my email for work to do. Then, when he walks away, I go back to whatever I was betaing in the Word program. This is the big boss who's only there one week in three. The always boss knows I work hard when there's work, so he doesn't say anything. Of course, that was before. Duh dun dun!

So that means that there are even more partents to make their voices heard. What the hell is the logic of that? 'Iron hoof'. :snorts:

That's the thing. I don't think I ever heard a name. Someone told me you had a five-year-old, and somehow I got boy from that. I think. See aforementioned blur.
