Thanks to the timely intervention of Kroki_Refur, this entry was NOT the one that drove me insane. It only got me about halfway further along the way. Thanks bunches, Refur.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

OK, I don't know that this is what you're doing wrong, but what you're supposed to do is copy the URL only into the place in the meme coding where it says "NEWESTURL" etc. So I would do this:

1. Copy the code in the box at the bottom of that girl's post and paste it somewhere.
2. Go to your userpics page
3. Right click on your newest icon and select "copy image location" (or the equivalent if you're not using Firefox)
4. Go back to the code, select the NEWESTURL, and paste.
5. Repeat for the other capslock sections of code.
6. When you're done, copy the code and paste it into your post.

Hopefully that should work! Good luck!

I tried using the copied code first. But when I right click my icons at the userpics page, the only copy option is Copy. Copy shortcut is lowlighted, and not an option. I even tried to copy the icon into the NEWESTURL space. No joy - icons ended up under the meme, with no titles. Maybe the problem is that my browser is Internet Explorer?

Thus the starting over and trying to insert them this way. More no joy.

With your suggestion, I've tried again. I recopied the meme coding. Then went to my Scrapbook, rightclicked the URL for my default, and replaced DEFAULTURL in the coding with the pasted URL. I left the " around it. It didn't work. I took the " out, thinking that must be it. It still doesn't work.

It seems I've figured it out, with your inestimable help. I have to right click the icon (in Scrapbook), choose "Properties" and get the URL from there, then paste it in place. Argh! There'd better be cheese at the end of this maze, is all I'm saying.

Please note use of "Angriest Icon." Why is it angry? Well, she is holding a sword. In the original you can see the dude's head in the basket. That's pretty darn angry. :)

I did give up. But that was yesterday. Tried again today, so the annoyance is all fresh. Oh, boy.
